thermometer on/off?

Thermometers turn on and off all the time. This is how they regulate the tank temperature. If it were to stay on youll eventually boil the fishies. You dont want boiled fishies....fried is the way to go with a squeeze of lemon :fun:

your heater i working correctly! like knucklehead said, it turn on and off to regulate the water temperature, if it was on constatnly the fish would boil, and it it were off, the fish would die becuase the water would be too cold.

Well, technically it's heater, not thermometer, but the answer is already posted. The heaters are self-controlling and in theory should keep the temperature at their setting though some are better at it than others.

oh yeah!! HEATEER!! DUH! omg ..lol i feel so stupid

well thanks! i was getting really frustrated cuz my fish have ich i need it

yeah, a lot of them have little lights to tell you whether it's on or off. Sometimes when it flashes it means it's regulating temps.

Dont worry. we will not make fun of you  :dunno: :kana:

Hint: Don't trust the setting on the heater itself, take readings from a realiable thermometer (or two).

Just thought i'd post that as my heater is set on 22c but the water is actually 25c.
