I have had my tank for two years and for most of that time a certain live rock with what i thought was a unusually

beautiful pest anemone. It is almost totally clear with tiny white spots on each arm and a larger white tip. But now that it has

multiplied I dont now what it is an lps maybe??? The anemones spread out through the rock and come out other places this

thing is making a close nit colony and they seem to have a skeleton below the polyps themselves. Even the rock around

where they are has a fleshy yellow tone. As of yet I have no decent pics because it is difficult to photograph something clear

in the water. If this discription sounds familiar please let me know. I Have never seen anything like it.

Could be many things, are you sure you cant get any pictures?

MAYBE Coralimorph anemones, but tough to say without pics...

It is so transparent my camera only shows a blur but i will try again later do you know of any sites

that have list of known species of lps if it is a coral it is an lps Im sure of that

Im not sure it is a coral it may be a different kind of anemone. I dont know  But if its a coral

I think it would be an lps it looks like a tiny clear pokadotted version of my torch coral.

I got a better camera but its too late tonite the light went off just as I got home. I will

have pics tomorrow. :good:

Ok I called the aquarium in tn to identify my ?coral? and am getting a photographer friend of mine to

take a pic he said cause it is a clear animal an autofocus camera wont pick it up so he is gonna get it

with his manual camera and when he does I will send it here AND the aquarium director.

If it is worrying you I will hire out my urchin to you and he will eat it..... He eats anything that he feels maybe edible: rocks, corals, fish, algae, anemone, the plastic divider in my tank and even have a go at eating the glass of the aquarium . Anyone would think I don't fed him but I do..... honestly

Regards

If getting a picture still doesn't work out, how about trying a video at different angles? That should pick up a bit of it...maybe
