Is cornet coral the same as torch coral?? My local fish shop is selling one, it was marked up as cornet coral but it looks remarkably like torch coral; if they are the same thing that would be why!!

:good:

Regards

Never heard of that common name being used for Euphyllia glabrescens. Torch corals have a very specific look (just like anemones) and the only coral that really looks possibly similar to them (aside from other equphyllia or anemones) would be the long tentacled plate. Do keep in mind that E. glabrescens is the most sensitive of the euphyllia genus. They like stronger light and moderate flow. I might be more inclined to go with a hammer or frogspawn before going with the torch :)

I have seen torch corals called cornets before.

As ski said, if it looks like a torch, chances are it's a torch.

It is the same I just found out; I recognised a coral and named it!!! Wooo hoooo! Thanks @ombomb I thought it was; very distinctive looking coral is the torch.
Ski, I wasn't going to get it yet I have recently added my hammer coral so I wanted to find out how that deals with the tank first. I think the next LPS will be frogspawn they are lovely looking and again just as distinctive as the torch coral. Maybe an open brain as well.

Is a torch, frogspawn and hammer going to be too much for a 24g; I would think that you would have to be careful as they all need a good few inches clearance.

Big C here a picture my battery is now charged. (By the way it didn't take 3 days to charge lol). SKi notice the same polyps on the zoa have not opened even with moving and fine water parameters and ok flow pattern. Weird eh......

Regards

definitely not too much, but leave space between them.

personally i've never had a problem with sweeper tentacles from my frogspawn or the torches I've kept, but better to be safe than sorry and I've been stung by the frogspawn and it wasn't fun :p.
