Theres thousands of worms in my tank (20) and there attackin my fish. They are covered in them. Idk what to do this is not good I need Help fast!!!!!!! :grr:

Need a better description of them, size, color, features but it sounds like dragonfly larvae to me. Those are aggressive and wormlike in appearence.

Obviously the best thing to do is grab a net or strainer and pull them out.

Small and white sounds more like planaria which are harmless. If anything, your fish would eat those.

If they are planaria (flatworms), they are usually a result of overfeeding. There is probably a lot of uneaten food left in your gravel. A good water change should fix it, and be sure not to let any food go uneaten.

They are a piece of hair thin and and an 1/8th of an inch long. They are being eaten by my coris but my corys are covered with them.

Definately Planaria, stop feeding completely for 48 hrs, tropicals can stand this sort of fasting period with no ill effect, if really hungry there will still be enough to sustain the tank in the substrate and this will help rid the worms more quickly. After fasting before the first feed as above, a deep vac with 40-50% water change and feed only once every 24 hrs for a further week. Worms should dissappear in 48-72 hours but will return just as quick unless feeding is kept to a minimum for 7 days

Hmm...

This is the first time i have heard of planaria attacking fish, besides fry. Keep me updated, im curious now.

P.T.

There all on my corys. On there fins on there body on there whiskers on there body and everywhere. The corys are havin a blast eatin them off eachother and the side of the tank. They dont seem to be on the neons or patriot yet so yeah.

i had them in a tank noce, they grew by the thousands in my filters from overfeeding. there is a surefire way to get ridof them quickly. there is a product called algae fix, not algae destoyer, but algae fix- fish and plant safe. one dose and u will see them all curl into a ball and fall out of your filters and anywhere else they are. it will look like its snowing. a good water change and gravel vac and you are all set. the fish love eating them. your water will be a bit cloudy for about 2 days from the algae fix but it kills those worms off fast. i have never had any ill efects of this.

How do the worms just appear from over-feeding? Wouldn't they have to get in there first somehow? Maybe they hitched a ride on a plant or something like the tiny snails??

Just curious.

Sry i cant get any pics i dont have a Digital camera my mom lost it. I think they hitched a rider on my corys. When the guy was tryin to catch it he stired up the gravel and it looked like they havnt cleaned the tank in years.

I saw a couple of these in my tank a couple of weeks ago and I was overfeeding at the time. They were only there after I had done a light gravel vac and had been stirred up and only a couple, but I've got a gazillion snails, so maybe they ate them?

Good luck with them.
