Hi I have a 55l fresh water tank with mixture of minnows and tetras. Presently have cheap glass theomometer in tank just wondering how accurate these are. Or is it worth investing in digital one? Any particular brands seen a Juwel one on ebay for about £10.
Thanks in advance for advice.

I don't trust many thermometers as they all tell me a different thing lol. I currently use a "marina aqua minder" as I like the preciseness of digital and the remote placement of the temperature probe. Highlight is the alarm though, it saved my fish from a broken heater on it's first day of operation.

glass ones are fine, stick on ones are "ok" and digital ones are just over priced.

Thanks for replies - so glad for this forum and experience shared. Certainly helps us newbies and saves us spending where we don't need to. :good:
Cheers!!

Spirit thermometers > stick on thermometers > digital thermometers, in order of accuracy.

Digital thermometers require frequent user calibration so they're pretty pointless, unless you can afford high-end equipment.

I found the stick on ones can be quite inaccurate at times, especially if you have a cold or hot room where the fish tank is placed.
