Also,sometimes if it's not a good wrap,they'll eat the unfertilized eggs right away and try again

It's hard to figure out whose to blame. He could very well be a terrible embracer and she's just cleaning up. Or she's just a naughty girl Either way, it's not uncommon for them to be clumsy on their first try.
