OK I now have left in my tank after my week of misery....

2 sterbai
2 rummys (from 6)
3 adlofoi cory (from 4)
1 clown Loach (from 2)
5 neons (from 10)
I gourami (from 2)
lost my bristlenose
my apple snails are fine
and my two discus seem ok (I thought they were the tricky ones!)

My Ph is really really high, but when I tried to get the Ph down thats when they all died :/

Should I wait until a few weeks or so and try the PH minus again?
What do I do? Do I just leave it??? Are they better off just having a high PH???

Maybe I should start over and keep fish which can tolerate a high Ph?

I seriously nearly gave up on ALL my fish, but I was looking at my discus this morning and I could tell they were asking me not to give up!

:-( :-( :-(

I sure feel for you...but hopefully the worst is over for you (crossing fingers and toes for you) :D

I've been told and read over and over a stable pH is more important than an ideal one. However, your discus need a pretty low pH (like 6.0, right?) What is your actual pH? I'm sure maybe some discus experts would be better to guide you on this....letting you know if the ideal pH and your's are even far enough apart to worry about.

Hang in there...your fish appreciate all you are doing for them.

I really think that discus need to be kept in a mainly species tank(just my opinion)....because they do need water that isn't so necessary in a community tank.
So sorry to hear of your losses.....my advice is to never try to mess with the ph of your water. There are things (like lava rock for example) that naturally adjust the ph levels of your tank.
I just don't believe that the ph up/down that they sell in the shops are of any benefit to your tank......they will more than likely damage your fish, due to differing water quality.

Dont worry about the ph, just leave it stable for a while atleast.

What i would do is feed sparingly, once small feed a day max, id do 2 water changes a week and just let things settle for a while.

Have you tested ammonia nitrite nitrate? were they all 0 and the last near 0?

Whatever you do dont add anymore fish untill you had 100% healthy fish for atleast a month, preferably 2
