well as many of you know I seperated ernie and bert to give them time to heal after this weekends little party that they had, and much to my surprise the first thing that ernie did was to move as much sand aganst the divder as he could I guess he wants to make sure that bert isn't going to hurt him that way. in fact he has cleared a few spots down to the glass.

in the long run I think that it is good it will allow them both to realize that they have enough of a territory and to simmer things down a bit. plus it will allow ernie to put on some size as well, they still visit each other like they are in prison talking through the divider it is really funny to watch the just sit there looking at one another.

lmao@ like they're in prison

But really it was probably a very wise move on your part ;)

LOL that's a great story juan.

At least they aren't ramming the glass to get at each other. I've had cichlids go full speed into the glass to get at the fish in the next tank over, so sounds like they are both happy.

Great to hear that all is good. Keep us updated!

all he need now is a hard hat and a back pack, before he goes back into battle again one day :D

been reading about bert and ernie for a bit now. have you posted a pic of the two of them in their new set up? i'd love to see what i've been reading about...............

Aren't cichlids interesting to watch! I just can't get enough of them myself!
Keep the stories coming juan!

well I checked the battle wounds today and the cuts to the anal fin is all better that was faster than I expected, it has only been three days since I started treated them, and everything else is all healed up the only fin left to regrow are the first two rays of his dorsal fin that bert bit the tips off of.
