There's a lot of Forum members from Jolly Olde England here and that's great. I watch a lot of PBS and I love the Britcoms and British police dramas so I seem to always have an image of some UK TV character pop into my head when I read posts. @Essjay conjures up Nora Batty and @AdoraBelle Dearheart brings Auntie Wainright to mind. Every male comes off either as Foggy Dewhurst or Norman Clegg. I have way too much time on my hands nobody has any idea what I'm talking about.

Auntie Wainwright?? Yikes!!
Not only am I not yet 40 (although I'm closer than I'm comfortable with) but she's a horrible penny pinching, swindling hermit type! Humpf.

In reality, I am a character from several books by a great British Writer, the late Sir Terry Pratchett. This is Adorabelle *cough* me *cough*

Described in the fandom wiki as: "Adora is fearless (people who know they are in the right always have no fear), has a sarcastic sense of humour and speaks frankly and candidly, even to the Patrician himself [...] Adora's appearance, demeanour and, especially, cloud of tobacco smoke suggest to some that she may be an avatar of the goddess Anoia (and Lela before her.) This would put Moist in an odd relationship with both the goddess and her worldly manifestation, although he was, himself, the avatar of Fedecks, messenger of the gods."
Please adjust your mental image accordingly, good sir.

Oops . Sorry. That's why assuming and generalizations get people in trouble.

I'm only bantering with you, have no fear! It's a British thing ;)

I have a mental image of you and @Slaphppy7 as cowboys, if it helps!
See ? There you go. @Slaphppy7 I figure as a big rich Texas oil baron. I am no cowboy at all despite being in the Capital of Cowboy Land Montana. I'm the doddering old man that talks to himself and chews on his tongue.

I am just me.....nothing and no-one special....I don't suffer fools and I speak my mind - the ex hubby found that out to his cost

(Been called lots of things over my almost 60 years mind you, none of which can be printed here)

Nora Batty!! Me!!!

😲😲😲😲😲😲

I'll have you know I very rarely wear tights (pantyhose) as my clothing preference is trousers so no wrinkled ankles. And my husband is no Wally Batty, if anyone is hen pecked it's me
I'm the female equivalent of Cleggy. Non descript and boring.

I absolutely love Last of The Summer Wine. That show is so funny and the characters are priceless . I cried like a baby when Compo died. The only thing I can't figure is why Pearl never killed Howard and why Marina let herself be led along for so long.
