The Perfect Plant Growing Tank

Too vague a question :). What exactly do you want? Different plants have different preferences and requirements for healthy and/or attractive growth.

Do you want something low-maintenance? Or do you mind it being high maintenance?

Do you want fast growth or slow growth?

Are there any particular species you would like to grow?

How much money are you looking to spend?

would this tank be good for growing java moss?

So you only have the bare tank and £3? If so, forget CO2 at the moment and lets go "low-tech" with playsand, something like cactus compost and reasonable lighting.

Do you want fish in the tank? Is this supposed to look nice, or just grow plants?

That would be OK for growing java moss, but thats only because java moss is very easy.

There's no detail in the diagram, like what type of lighting and what wattage?

Also your CO2 appears to be bubbling through an airstone...which would actually result in the tank having less CO2.

If you want fast growth, go for something easy that grows fast like Hygrophila ploysperma.

Really have no idea what your looking for here, it's like you've asked for plans for the 'perfect fish tank' but not told anyone what your idea of "perfect" is...

the tank is purely for growing plants..
how would you have the co2 going into the tank?
maybe 25w light strips?

So I take it you don't mind which species ass long as they grow fast?

Personally I'd use a glass/ceramic diffuser, but since I assume it doesn't have to look pretty you could probably DIY something. I'm presuming you'll be using a yeast based CO2 system? How much maintenance are you willing to put into the tank?

maybe 25w light strips?
Do you have the light already?

What type of strip light? (T8, T5, compact T5, etc.) What are the dimensions of the tank?

i dont mind what species...
it is a yeast based co2 system..
what do you recommend i use as a diy diffuser?
i already have some t5's

If you can afford it, buy a ceramic/glass diffuser and place in at the bottom of the tank under the powerhead flow. I found that very effective with yeast based CO2.
I've never used a DIY diffuser with yeast, the easiest way would be to make something with the CO2 line going into the powerhead and though some sponge to cut in into microbubbles that flow out across the tank, but I don't know how feasible/effective that would be. Ty different things!

What kind of T5's?
Need info...there's no point of advising further when your not answering questions aimed at helping you :p.
