I just thought id share my latest addition. its only about 1" -1.5" at the moment so tiny!

my firemouth whos only about 3"-4" keeps chasing it when it comes out, is this ok, is it just cos hes saying "oi this is my tank, who are you?"

Congrats these are great fish. Fun to watch grow and go personality I love mine. People say they are hard to keep alive I think it comes down to good health. Many of these guys are sickly from the start but if you get a healthy one they are just as strong as the normals.

What take mates doe He have?

Too much chaseing is not good and will add stress that will weaken them. Move things around in the tank could help with the way the firemouth is acting.

hes in there with a red spotted sev, a firemouth a royal plec and some columbian tetras.
when you say move things do you meen re arange the tank so its not so territorial?

if you move ornaments about, then the fish will think that they're somewhere new, so they won't think it's their territory.
