The most common pleco

Okay, so I bought a pleco a few weeks ago. And he/she is doing great. Named em Hoover . Well anyways, I am unsure of what kind of pleco he/she is. I have looked online but I am stull unsure. He is dark with spots on him. I am sure he is prolly a very commonly bought pleco for my lfs to have them. I am just wondering is anyone has any ideas on what kind he/she is. Thanks for any help

How big is your aquarium? Common plecos get gigantic. They can reach 16" i think.

Yeah, it's to small, I only have a 10gallon right now. But he is tiny. When he grows and I have the money I am going to be getting a larger tank for him. I have read about them and the common length is 12 inches and they live for up to 20 years , he is gonna be with me for a while I hope .
