i came home this morning to find that the frog who had apparently been shedding his skin... has passed on i only got them on monday !! i can get him replaced, but i'm wondering if maybe he was sick and i mistook it for shedding?

it's a 1g triangle shape tank with gravel, stones (i boiled them first), fake plants and an air pump that runs through the middle in a tube thing... there's a 'grate' under the gravel that the air is supposed to go through as well, but it does not seem to work.

It's an Aquaview, and that grate is an undergravel filter, the air is only supposed to go up through the hose there, and the under gravel filter is so the waste falls down there.

And have you been doing weekly or bi-weekly water changes like I told you?

i've only done 1 water change so far (i've only had them/him for a week). when i changed the water i siphoned it with the gravel vac, but if the waste is falling below the grate, then will i have to take the gravel, etc. out to get rid of it?

also, could you suggest a good way to transfer my froggie while i do this. when i did it before i used a net and once he wuz out of the water for a sec he took off onto the desk !! luckily he hopped back onto the net and wuz quickly placed in his temp container... but it gave me a quite a scare
