well im going to get 10 of the following ones of this breed

Pteronotropis welaka = bluenose shiner
Pteronotropis signipinnis = Flagfin Shiner
Pteronotropis euryzonus = Broadstripe Shiner

But i have a question over this. are they top / middel / of bottom dwellers

>>> are they top / middel / of bottom dwellers

Almost all of the shiners are bottom living fish wanting clean, well oxygenated moving water. I had a mate in Basingstoke who bred a few species. Are generally difficult to get outside of the US. Pretty things.

The flags (in my tank) mostly stay towards the bottom/middle of the tank. But- they DO swim at all levels. I've never kept them in an aquarium without two currents. The filter (waterfall filter) and the fountain pump (bottom of tank). They like the faster flow of the fountain pump.
These are the only kind of shiners I've kept-that I can remember, lol.
Another thing- they LOVE having a fallen limb to swim under. It's hard to see in my tanks pics, but they have one there. Everytime I've found them in the wild- they are under a limb in the current. HTH's! These are neato little guys!

(stupid typoes!) LL- you replied at the same time i did! LOL

I had a feeling this was the case. Its a shame as they are a nice fish.

Eh- I'm starting a breeding program with them. If it's legal to ship them to your country, blah blah- AFTER I get a good stock going- I'd give a few out for shipping. Not sure how much it would cost though.
