The Fish I Bought Out Of A Coldwater Tank In Walmart

Ok so when i went to wm yesturday i looked in the tanks like always and saw that in the commets tank and i notice 2 fish not suppose to be there. The tank had about 16 fish in it and was completely for commets. So i bought them knowing that i have room in my 20 gallon. So now there in there and at first i was hesatant to put them there cause they llok like a ram or something tropical. But then i looked in my fish book and saw that similar fish to these were coldwater. I got the 2 in the tank and there about an inch long. There actaully have a slender physic and have dorsal fins that there constantly flaring up like a ram. They have striped going vertically down and they seem greenish-grey. Anyone have any idea what they are. Sorry i can't take pics. They seem to get along with the goldfish in my tank so i think i'll be keeping them. ?/

They sound like Sunfish from the description, certain species of sunfish can get rather aggressive so keep an eye on them.

In my experience sunfish and pumpkinseeds are best kept in tanks on their own.
