We have been having quite a mild summer without any major heat waves etc...But in the last week or so it has really been heating up. I think the biggest complainer about the heat in this house is my cat Chevy. She lays in the middle of the floor where the fan is for hours at a time. I really feel for her. All her fat is insulating the heat. I snapped a couple of pics while she was basking in front of the fan.

Hot kitty

I have been finding her on her back more and more lately. I think she cools off better when her tummy is in the air. That or she just goes to roll over and gets stuck that way.

Ahhh Chevy is so lovely - I just want to cuddle her

I adore that cat he is so fat. He puts me in mind of all my cats. None of my cats weigh under 20 pounds.... :kewlpics: :kewlpics:

She's gorgeous
I think we're getting a cat soon, my daughter is dead set on one :S

i second that...i still like the pic of the kitty in the sink though lol! tuesday, my cat, lays in the bathtub all day now that i am in a new apartment that is 5-10 degrees warmer than he is used to (~80F) lol

She's lovely!!!! I love fat cats! My Suki is so fat when she tries to scratch her ears she rolls over!!! When she lies down and tucks all her feet under she looks like a tea cosy (or a big black furry slug, but it hurts her feelings when I call her that!!).

Chevy's gorgeous!!!! Does she let you stroke her tummy?

Sarah: Chevy will let me scratch her tummy, mainly because I don't give her a choice.

Abstract: I love the pic of her in the sink too. She seems to do that a lot lately. She finds creative ways to cool down.

We love Chevy a lot. She was originally my husband's cat, but she has made it quite clear that she favours me.

I think she has a compulsion to eat, or at least be near food at all times. If I even make it look like I might go in the kitchen, she will bolt out from where ever she is and run to her food as fast as she can on the off chance there is no food and I want to feed her.

If there is food in the dish, she usually ignores it, or takes one bite and wanders off back where she came from. I have almost fallen over her more times than I can count. :sly:

Gotta love fat cats. I have another cat at my mom's named Bear. She is 13 years old and a HUGE ball of chocolate brown fur. She is the same way as Chevy when it comes to people being near their food dish. Maybe they are guarding it from us.

Bear is my cat, but she is a little crazy when it comes to moving, she has only ever moved 2 times in her life, and both times she hid under furniture and cried relentlessly for 2 days. When I moved out I decided it would be best if she stays with my parents. I still go visit all the time though. She still comes running when I come to visit.

This is bear and my daughter 2 1/2 years ago

Bear looks at home with her. Bear is pretty. But your daughter is the prettiest little girl I have ever saw. I Just think she is adorable..
