How do you folks cull your convicts once they grow out? What makes you want to keep certain ones, and what do you do with the rest? Personally, I choose health, size, and vibrant colors or unusual markings, and then the rest go to my friend's festae, since none of the surrounding lfs want cons. And, if you think it's barbarous to feed my friend's festae with my cons, I wouldn't mind hearing your opinion about that and your alternatives, aside from convict "abstinence."

Yea I kinda wanna hear this too. If I get any babies from my pinks,I'm just ganna offer em up for free. I don't have any fish to feed them to. I know alot of people say they just leave them in the tank and let them fend for themselves. Mine will be a free for all. lol

size and color for me, the rest i use as feeders. i dont have enough room for thousands of fry so this is the only way. i gave away most of what i breed, but no one wants them anymore.

I let them fend for themselves. Usually i get about 2-3 fry that grow past 1".

But this time around i have no other predators in my tank so all of them made it. I already got rid of 30-40 fry and still have 20-30 left in my tank about 3/4" long. I need to find something to do with them.

I am giving the parents away tonight to someone. As much as i love convicts, i just don't want to deal with the fry or them messing up my tank. I've gotten my thrill out of breeding them, now i want a heavily planted tank with few fish/snails/shrimp in it. I want it so that you need to look around for 20 mins to find a fish :D
