a while back a buddy of mine from the betta association bid on a pair of half moon butterfly from "siamimbellis" on aquabid. the fish were turned over to marianne at bcbetta and she bred them successfully for him. he ended up with a lot of fish and after keeping the ones he wanted decided to give me a pair for free 
this guy is "b grade" quality, but the female is a looker. he is of course not halfmoon but i think they are pretty cool pair nonetheless. marianne says the male has the red loss gene and i just might give them a try sometime.
