The boys are back

The FOTAS (Federation of Texas Aquarium Society) show was this weekend in Houston.Sadly I was unable to attend because I'm dying over here from some disgusting disease....or it's just allergies (which is what everyone is telling me)
So my fish rode with a friend of mine to compete and apparently they did quite well
He just dropped them off and they look so good for having such a rough couple of days I think they know they're home

Aaaaaand he brought me a pair of kapuas!!

I have a few ribbons from the show but they have Angelfish on them....cichlid people Apparently I won the Texas showperson of the Year award as well, but they couldn't find the trophy They sounded like a well oiled machine
J/K, I completely understand. Putting on a show is hard work and frustrating.

Our club is hosting our second show on October 15th, so I better not make too much fun of FOTAS. Karma and all that good stuff

Yeah, I didn't even know such a title existed I owe all credit to Wally for going out of his way submitting my information and gathering my show points,taking my fish etc. He's too kind

No, I kept the DT daddy home with me ) The marble daddy,too. I sent the one other solid DT male I have and the marble DT, two DT females (mom of DT spawn) a couple red st's, two orange, two greens aaaand, I think that was all...

EDIT~ But, not to toot my own horn ( ) but a couple from the club entered the fish they bought from the auction at our last show, CT's from overseas and one of my plakats still won best betta (toot toot, go boys,go!)

Think of it this way, one less trophy is one more space to put another betta. I am sure they will find it in time. It will come when you least expect it.

I wish I had the room for more fish, but I just don't. Unless someone decides it is their time to go(God I hope not), I won't be getting any fish for a while. Keep us updated.

are you allowed to show fish that you didn't breed yourself? that doesn't sound fair...

I know but it was okay at this show. In most cichlid shows you will find folks showing fish they didn't breed.This show was for cichlids,killis,bettas,etc. Betta shows on the other hand, you have to be the breeder to show in regular classes, and in novice you can show fish that you didn't breed but you have to have permission from the breeder.
