these guys tend to lose color if i hover their their tank for too long, and they hate having their picture taken. i've received so many requests for photos that i've decided to give it a try anyway. here they are:

Wow they look very nice  . Any chance those of us on the forum could purchase one?

Super, your photos are always so clear!!! Could you tell us what kind of camera you're using and what settings you're using? I'm assuming you have the flash turned off, and have it set for moving objects. Are you tweaking the brightness and contrast in photoshop at all (autolevels)?

Any chance you could put that watermark somewhere in the corner, rather than across the entire photo?

im using a nikon d70. normally when i use the tank i reserve for taking photos i use a macro filter but since i was taking pics in their own tank, i didnt. the settings i use vary according to what fish im photographing and in what tank. for these photos i used auto white balance, 1/500th s shutter speed, 800 ISO, flash at 1/16th power, with continuous autofocus. when i use my photo tank setup i typically do not use flash (i rely on a pair of fluorescent lamps), and use shutter speeds anywhere from 1/60th s on up, 500 ISO, and put a piece of white paper at the back of the tank and take a custom white balance. depending on the color of the fish, i'll either remove the paper or replace it with a dark sheet.

after a bad experience with people stealing my fish photos (and claiming it was perfectly legal to do so!), i learned to watermark across the whole image. putting it in the corner makes it rather easy for people to crop it out  i'm not saying anyone here would do that, but i do use the same images to post online in various other places too, and it would be difficult to maintain separate sets of the same pics.

Sooooooo pretty, I'm in love

Hey these are lovely, don't suppose you're in the UK cause I'd love a boy and girl from you, any chance :hyper:
