The barbels on my peppered

Are the barbel ends all red? If they're not, then I wouldn't worry too much. If they are red, then s/he probably has an infection and you'll need to treat accordingly. The type of substrate you have can cause barbel erosion. Corys prefer sand or very fine gravel, as it's easier for them to sift through and it's easier on their barbels :nod:

ive had barbell erosion on cories before, but not now even though i have the same gravel. I found the erosion of my corys barbells to be from high nitrates, and both with erosion died, i think that you should check you nitrate levels, imo, although i could b wrong
