i am thinking of purchasing an ATC 300 2 channel temperture controller and run titanium heaters but i have a question regarding the 2 sockets that are ran off the controller. so if anyone has one please can they help me out?

as i understand the controller plugs into the mains but has a twin socket coming from it that the controller controls, 1 socket for the heater control and 1 for the timer control.

so if i wanted to run 2 titanium heaters could i do it using 1 controller or do i need 1 controller per heater?

You could plug a double extension in to the temperature controlled socket outlet, and then plug your heaters into that. It can switch upto 1200W so dont go too mad.

I have 2 of these.
1 is on my Zebra plec tank and the other is on my new 4ft plec tank.
As above just plug an extension lead with twin sockets.
The heater socket once set will turn off once it has reached that setting and then not turn on until it drops 1 degree. If its set at 28 degrees,it will allow it to get to that temperature and then turn the socket 1 off,it wont turn the socket back on until it reaches 27 degrees.

I have mine set so the thermostat on the heater switches off before it reaches the limit of the ATC300.
I only use the ATC as a failsafe for the heater.
The built in timer works but can be a bit of a pain to set.

what heaters do you run off the atc300? if you only use it as a failsafe does that mean you use normal heaters? im looking into titanium heaters, these dont come with a built in thermostat so need the atc300 to prevent them getting too hot.

I use standard heaters on mine.
It will do what you want.
Dont know if its designed to do it continuously.

just been out and bought the ATC300, 2 x aqua medic titanium heaters and 2 heater guards.

probably the most expensive heating set up ive ever bought but if it works as good as it says then worth every penny :good:
