In my 110gal. community the two angels mated, spawned and have taken exceptional care of their young to this point. Both parents caring for them, chasing away the balas, tetras and even the bigger (5") pleco.

Now the fry (about 100-150) have eyes and yolk sacks and are clumped on and near a leaf where the parents have put them. They seem fine for now under the watchful eyes of mom and dad. They are keeping them together, putting stragglers back etc.

They are close to free swimming stage so I put a foam filter inlet cover on and lowered the filter flow(Aquaclear 300) on that side of the tank.

I plan on feeding Hikari First bites to the fry since I can't be bothered with rearing Baby Brine. Threw some in today on top of the fry, and there was some commotion and it seemed some took a few bites.

Has anyone had success with fill grow out of fry in a community? I don't expect so but I wanted to see what others have experienced.

hmm, it might work considering the angels will take care of the fry, but it might be a bit safer to either move the fry(when free swimming) or put a divider in the tankso the other fish cant get to them
congrats btw

The parents will even eat the fry too if they think they are under threat...if you want to rear the fry you will need to house them in seperate tank!!!
