i just got back from my LPS. i asked if i could work for them, since i have a community service thing i have to do for school, and apparently the women will ask the store owner. when i asked where they got their bettas she took down what i wanted and is going to order them! i asked for a pair of sun salamander delta tails, male and spawn sister.

now, herein lies the problem. i have maybe a month to wait for the fish, and until then i have nowhere for them! pierce's new tank is on hold, and i've decided to go with a small, lighted + filtered gallon tank for both. pierce will get the same after i have my new boy and girl settled in to their seperate tanks. both will be conditioned in the spring for breeding, but only in spring. i get 10 bucks a week of allowance, can't ask for an advance. i suppose i could hunt down someone in need of a babysitter, but i doubt it. in a month i make 40 bucks, and 40 bucks can buy one and a half of the gallon tanks i mentioned, whose name has completely slipped my mind.

i wondered if *anyone* could help me. i have several gallon jars i CAN keep the pair in for a little while, but a lack of heat would certainly kill them after a couple of weeks, in which i still could not get enough money to afford a tank. i can probably afford one by the time the fish arrive, if anyone would be kind enough to send an eclipse or mini-bow or the aquatank gallon system to me i'd gladly try to work something out to pay you back the money, or perhaps i could send a fellow bettaholic one of the nicer breeding pairs from my salamanders spawn to them.

if anyone has any better ideas could you tell me? i'd much rather go about this without having the beg other people to clean up my mess and help me do everything xX

hmmmm, I'd say go with the gallon jars for now and save, save save so that you can do it right. If you keep them in a warm spot they should be fine.
Congrats on your new pair

But keep in mind,if you plan on breeding them that is, it's expensive! You'll need a 10 gallon for breeding in, and at least a 30-40 to grow out the babes  , that's not even mentioning all of their little accessories

But if they're just for having...you'll be fine & so will they

lol, it's how i doodle things. just randomly started drawing my boys one day and *floomph* they looked like that

and if anyone else asks... its an alien being -shifty eyes-
