I was looking in my tanks lastnight and for a moment had a heart stopping shock  , one of my new little Pakastani loaches was on its side on one of its favourite rocks looking for all the world DEAD  . Then I remembered that they do like sleeping on their sides  and sure enough he woke up for a second sat (?) up normally before settling back down to finish his snooze :zz . It was so cute  (felt like tucking him in with a little fishie blanket  ) I even got the other half out to see him doing it, it was the first time I had seen any of my loaches go to sleep this way.

You should trying walking into a closed aquatics shop first think in the morning the day after a delivery of 500 clown loaches and you glance at the system before turning the lights on to see a carpet of dead clown loach in every tank...

I left the room in tears only to pause, go back and flick the system lights on (had been looking with an external light source) only for all the clown loach to all jump right up with a "Oooh goody... breakfast time already!" look on their faces!

Never been so upset over fish in my life! Was when i first started working with fish and i wasnt keeping them at that point, if it wasnt for this forum i wouldnt have understood they were just sleeping LOL.

Doesnt mean i warned the other staff either  made a fair few people panic!

I think I would have deliberately sent staff into the fish section when I knew the loaches where alseep and watched from a vanatage point to see the persons reaction :shifty:  .

I just made excuses and went to open the gates and let other people turn all the fish lights on knowing they would get a panic too
