ok, i have 2 red clawed crabs in a tank with water and land for them to go as they please and plenty of hiding spots. they seem pretty happy and i have the water tropical (26ºc) but i have heard that they do better in brackish water. if they do is it safe to add the salt now they are in the tank and if so what kind of salinity levels should i go for? i have looked all over the internet and theres not much on these crabs please help

they don't do "better" with Brackish, they require it. its a pain LFS are not more honest on that front. about 5ppt is fine for them.
only one other thing is, these guys are LAND crabs. they require water, but don't live in it. you can get round this by placing a "dry area" in the hood, or placing a shelf on the side of the tank. remember to heat it though, these guys need the same temp, out of water, as in.
