I would like to extend my Tetratec EX700 spray bar so that it extends across the width of my tank and outputs at the opposite side to the intake tube. I feel this would create more of a current and help with water circulation. I know you can buy spare spraybars, but I want the same tubes without holes in to carry the water a little further before output through the holes in the normal spraybar. Does anyone know if I can buy such a tube that will fit properly? I only want to extend the spray bar by about 14 inches or so.
Secondly, I removed a Juwel internal filter when setting up this tank, and I am wondering how this external filter will perform as well as the Juwel one. The Juwel filter has two intakes - one at the top and one at the bottom. The Tetratec has a tube that draws water in from the bottom of the tank, but anything higher up in the tank just floats around for ages. How exactly is the stuff on the surface, e.g. dead plant leaves, suppsoed to get into the filter? What seems to happen is it sinks eventually and unless it lands reasonably close to the inlet tube it just sits there on the sand. I'm not massively impressed so far.
