Hi . was wondering what the best way to clean the pipes on the external filter , they are starting to get a bit grubby now, any tips ?

i admit mine look rather nasty, but is it worth cleaning them? wouldnt it be better to keep them dity unless blocked?

dont waste money on a LFS "pipe cleaner".

DIY is your friend

all you need is a small piece of a rag or sponge, or filter pad, scrubber, etc. pretty much whatever you want. a long piece of string and a nail or screw.

tie one side of the string around the nail and the other around your rag (or whatever). disconnect the hose, drop the nail and string down the hose, and pull the rag through. repeat until clean.

or, considering how rarely they need changed. just swap them out for new.

also very true. new hoses are pretty darn cheap.
