Hi there,

I am looking at getting a Tetratec 700 to put into my Juwel Vision 180 tank.

As I have the flat Juwel flapset on the top, I was just wondering if any alterations will need to be made to the lid (eg, cutting extra space for the filters pipe work) or if it should all fit in the gap already there for the light / airpipe / internal filter etc...

I have heard nothing but good news about these filters so would really like to get one, but don't want to have to cut into the lid sections incase I upgrade and want to sell the tank but keep the external filter

well unless there are spaces already there for the pipes to fit, then of course you will need to cut the hood,as they hang over the glass, there usually isnt enough room between the hood and the glass to fit them, but i have done it and to be honest, if you take your time you will do a neat job, and if you ever sell the tank, it wont be a problem, on that size of tank, most people would probably prefer an external anyway,

If you have the triangular cut outs at the back of the tank surround, you will have no problem fitting the pipework. I have a Rio, and have plenty of space for the pipes (one at each end of the tank) & a couple of lighting cables & a co2 pipe. I did cut a large round hole in the back of the cabinet to feed the pipework into the cupboard.

Why not go for the EX1200, it's not much more expensive, & has a larger capacity

I have a Tetratec EX700 on my Vision 180. It fits it just nice, no need for cutting at all.

The canister will fit into the cabinet as well, albeit moving one of the shelves.

Pauly.
