Are they good filters?

Seen one onsale for £55 and with me only having a stingray 15 filter i need to upgrade sooner or later so would this be a good choice?

Just noticed i will need the one that will be ok on a 60ltre tank

excellent filters, excellent value, but an overkill on that size of tank IMO, maybe like truck says,Ehiem do a more suitable, im all for over filtering so its up to you really :)

get it m8. so if you do upgrade in the future, you wont need to get another one!

I have one on my Aqua one Horizon 60l and it works great.

Good choice for the money :good:

Think i will go for the Tetratec Ex600 can run a tank from 60ltrs up to 120ltrs

I had a feeling they were good filters and the replies have comfirmed it cheers

Ive just boguht a second ahnd one for a 90l tank, and its fantastic. SO quiet its unbelievable, self priming really works too (unlike my old fluval).

Plus (and correct me if im wrong) more filtration = more fish!

same here i used 2 use a EX600 on my 60l and its worked superb as for over kill i really dont think there is such a thing tbh more filtration the better IMO

I have a ex700 and a Rena XP3 the 700 is soo quites unlike my XP3 that makes sound all the time.

Im selling my 700 soon as im wanting 2 1200's becaus the tetratec filters are great value and hold loads of media.

I would sell it to you but need to get my 1200 first. It will be up in a month and can be picked up mature/cycled if needed.

I've got an ex700 running on my 60l, at first I thought it would be overkill, but since setting it up I've realised it's absolutely fine, tbh I would't bother going with the ex600, the more flow the better.

Flow isn't the be-all and end-all, of course. I have an EX700 on a 4ft tank and love it because of the amount of media you can get in there. Lots of plants, so I don't really want too strong a flow, but it's the best money I've spent since I started four years ago - wish I'd got one much sooner than I did.

In planted tanks you should aim for at least 10 times turnover. When you fill the filter with media and connect the hoses, it will put out far less than 700 lph - up to 40% less iirc. Therefore, on my planted 70 litre tank I run two EX700's. This still isn't really enough for my liking though.

They're good filters, but not in the same league as Eheim.
