The TT-EX700 is a sturdy canister filter, more than capable of doing it's job. The flow rate is supposedly 700 litres per hour, but like all externals, this depends on media quantity, head height and how clogged the media is.

The water flow is as follows:
Through the inlet and down the tubes in the media baskets into the bottom of the filter, then up through the media, through the impeller and back out again.

Pros.
Filter tap head is easy and simple to remove, unplug the filter, twist the inlet and outlet valves to off, pull the main stopcock, lift up the release, twist, and then pull the tap block up, it will drip a little, but that's normal and will stop as soon as the water drains out of the block. From there, removing the lid is simple too, release the two big locking clips, then release the other two smaller ones that fit into the handles on the side, pull these to the horizontal and the filter will make a gasping noise as the lid is lifted off. tilt the pump head slightly to drain the water. From then on, just remove media buckets to clean. In general, the pump, baskets and filter are very easy to clean.

Cons.
I find that sometimes the pump makes a rattling noise even when filled with water, this can be solved by removing the pump head, then replacing it, for an unknown reason.
Inlet/outlet valves can fail, the tap heads have fallen off and  the valves have stuck 3/4 open in past experience, so keep a few spare valves handy, i recommend two, just incase

Otherwise, it is a good filter and good value for the money, good at what it does, and adaptable to suit needs because of the different baskets. There is no set order for the baskets to go in, just as long as the arrows on the casing and the baskets align with each other so that the pump head will sit on the unit correctly.
