hi guys

got a new tecratec ex1200 about 2 months back, just cleaned it out and when i pushed the primer button its become stuck. Does anyone know how to release it?

Cheers

just rang tetratec, are sending a new top, but still would like to know how to release it for future referance

I had an EX1200 for 18 months from brand new and never had the primer stick, in fact it was the best primer I've ever used (My current Eheim primer sticks, even after investigation)

What I would do is take the top off, take it up to the bath (can easily clean the bath out afterwards, dont wanna do it in your kitchen sink, euugh) and give it a good scrub with a new toothbrush to every bit of the underside you can get to, then lube the primer with vasoline and operate it until it frees up, also lube the seals with vasoline then rebuild

i had the same problem with the ex1200, i took top apart and lubed the o-ring in the primer, also after buying an fx5 I've noticed the flow rate from the ex1200 is not even near 1/4 of that from the fx5. what happen to your top that was stuck do tetratec take it back?

no, told me to bin it, but still waiting for replacement

I got one of my heads replaced for the same reason the other week, took a week to get delivered. It ran with the priming button down for a few months, as long as you fill the canister up before you hook it back up it fires up fine. No point trying to fix it yourself, the German guy on the phone number i called said it will just happen again in the future, its been fixed in the new builds or something. Cant fault them, very quick delivery really.
