Tetras?

Are tetras salt tolerant? I've heard salt is good to add when fish are sick. My tank has ich and i'm trying to get rid of it.
Also, are tetras and malachite green a bad mix? I treated with victoria green (3 days) and they are fine, although a little dull, but it's not getting rid of all the ich. My mom got me some other ich med. that is malachite green, but it says not to treat tetras, and i was wondering if anyone knew if this med is worse for tetras. Any other advice would be greatly appreaciated!

Tetras are sensitive to both salt and malachite green.

As for treating ich, I'd go with Rid-Ich+...safe for scaleless fish, etc. I've heard it's formulated at a lighter concentration than others.
