Hi

I would like to get some tetras into my tank but dont know if i can have them coz i have a slightly salted tank?

I'm not really sure what tetras to go for?

Bigfish needs a little advise.

Do you mean that you add aquarium salts to it, and that's why it's a little salty?
You know, I keep the same kind of aquarium. I don't have any tetras, but I have 4 clown loaches, a pleco, and a betta.

To be honest, I'm really sold on that stuff. The betta just loves to swim through the salt as it mixes with the water...

Yeah i add aquailbrum salt to the aquarium as i have guppies and platies in the tank and they thrive on a little abit of salt.

I'm not too sure about the Tetras...but I know the plecs do not do well in salt...I believe it eats through their protective "slime" coating and burns their skin...be careful :/ .....our Tetras don't seem to mind salt (Dr. Fishwells Aquarium salt tonic) but I only use 1/2 the recomended dosage ;)
