Okie so.

I have a ten gallon.

Currently housing 2 red phantoms and 2 cardinals.

I've had them forever like that... and they're fine. So please dont comment on how there should be more of the species.

Would I be able to fit in 4 female bettas?

Would they even be compatible?

My tetras are not aggressive at all.

Well. There are occasional scuffles inside of their species. Never any nipping or anything, though. Just a couple minutes of chasing if a fish enters their radius.

Comments?

Tetras are notorious fin nippers. Only try it if you have homes for the bettas as a backup plan.

Awwww. :X

My parents are like. Like. Not understanding of my fishy thing.

So they would be veryvery angry if things didnt work out.
I'd be willin gto euthanize the tetras...

But is that irresponsible...

Arghhhh.

Perhaps my friend would want the tetras.

Ehhhh. I dont like this.

I just want some girlies.

Okie so. Update.

I've decided to go for it.

I've read up on several articles, and asked around.

I'm going to get five.

If only I could find somewhere around here where they stock them! :X

For a 10g 5-6 is the very max, that means anything else in there that lives needs to be removed. Dont under take this project unless you've got everything set up and are prepared for injuries, these girls will beat each other up for the first week, you'll need anti-bacterial meds.

Funfunfun!

I know with two cardinals and two red phantoms it is probably pushing it a little.

And I've looked into the nipping thing.

But when it comes down to it, it all depends on the fish.

And my tetras really keep to themselves.

They dont even mind sharing hiding places.

So I'm thinking everything will work out. :hyper:
