can anyone tell me if this substrate is any good and what your experiences have been with it. my lfs only sell this or laterite

I haven't used it but I know people that have and they had decent plant growth when using it.

It's excellent; I put a layer under my ordinary gravel around a year ago and noticed the difference within a week. Unfortunately, due to redecorating the living room several months ago, I had to bin the Tetra. I wouldn't think twice about using it again, though. If it's any use to you, I bought a small tub and a large one, and there was plenty for my tank which is 4ft long and 15'' front to back. Just be careful when you vac the gravel not to go too far down.

It is good but is not for people who are going to be moving plants all the time. If you have decided on your planting and aren't going to be moving the plants too much then its good otherwise try and find something that is the same colour as your substrate.

Agreed. I used it and it was good, but I was moving stuff around and it got a bit messy. I also had a large algae eater that decided to burrow a lot, and it got a bit messy! (pesky thing)

Ive used it and it's been brilliant.
Check out my 5.5gallon journal (in my sig) for proof :)
