tetra id

this tetra was listed as an x-ray tetra at my lfs. but i thought x-rays were pristellas. can anyone id it for me? sorry for the small pics - were taken on my camera phone.

details: clearish body with some red. black eyes. looks almost like an albino except the eyes aren't red like most albinos.

really? but it doesn't look at all like the pristellas. are pristellas not x-rays?

yes pristellas are another name for X-ray tetras

do you have info or know where i can get some on them? i tried googling black eye x-ray tetra but nothing came up. thanks.

the scientific name for the black eyd xray is Pristella riddlei var
the var refers to varient, as in a colour morph

 

[Lateral Line]

The fish looks to me to have the wrong shape to be a Pristella. It is difficult to tell from those pictures though.
