Tetra Heater Ht10(50W)

I just got a tetra heater ht10, i don't want to know about how good it works, i'm only going to use it for emergency, but when i plugged it in, the light was green, and it's been plugged in for about 40 minutes and the light is still green, so this means it's not heating, will the heater take a while to start to heat?

Actually cool thing about that heater, it has both a green light and a red light. The green tells you it's plugged in and working, the red light tells you it's trying to heat up the water.

I don't have it but I took a look at it at Petco, thinking of getting it for my Fluval edge, 6 gallon. How do you like it? How big is your tank? How cold is the room you keep it in?
