A few eggs have appeared in my fish tank today. I have a pair of neon tetras, a pair of penguin tetras, 1 black neon tetra, 1 gourami, 1 catfish and 1 pleco. I think they are tetra eggs as these are the only ones I have in pairs! What do I do with them? Do I need to take them out and put them in a breeding tank or do I just leave them alone? This is the first time this has happened even though I have had the fish for 2 years! What do I do?

Yes you should remove the eggs before any of the fish eat them.

What size is your tank? You should have larger numbers of all the tetras so that they can shoal... minimum 5-6 better 9-10 of EACH species.

Good luck with your eggs

Unfortunately when I went back to my tank the next day all the eggs had been ate but there are now about 100 of them. I have put them all into a breeding tank so fingers crossed. :)

My tank is 60 litres. I did have 5 of each type of tetra but the rest have died over the 3 years I have them. I just never got round to replacing them. They all seem to shoal together and seem happy with each other. :D

Hopefully I will have some babies now to replace them. This is the first time in 3 years that there have been any eggs! Fingers crossed!!!! I really want some babies. :)
