Hey,

I have a question about when you test the water for amm., nitrites, and nitrates. Should the amm. be at 0, nitrites at 0, and nitrates at like a .20 or is it different for bettas?

What kind of tank is your betta in? All of mine live in something smaller than 5 gallons, so I don't even bother cycling the tanks or testing the water... just do a 100% water change every week.

Well I haven't gotten my betta yet. I got a 5 gallon tank for one today and have gotten it all set up. Since mine is in a 5 gallon do you think I should do the testing?

I assume you're planning to cycle the tank, so yes, testing the water would come in handy in that case. Ammonia and nitrites should be 0 with relatively low nitrates in a cycled tank for bettas just like for all other fish, yes
