What is this?
Of course photobucket has degraded this video even further down than it already was, but it is still possible to see the basic outline of the animal.

Well, I've discovered an animal in my tank that has so far stumped me and my biology teacher (and her husband). I might be on to it... I think it might be a "spaghetti worm", but still does not match the description of one entirely.
It possesses the following characteristics;
-several long, stringy appendages alongside shorter, thicker ones
-orange coloured; stringy ones have thick black bands
-mostly sedentary, but appears to move short distances; this might have been an optical illusion
-grips and drags coarse gravel; has built a mound of them and continuously rearranges the pieces
-strings move entirely seperately from each other and are highly dextrous
-not light-sensitive; is active day and night
-so far has not been predated on by other inhabitants of the tank
-has grown rapidly in several months
The entire thing can stretch out to cover about the area of a quarter, and when I frist found it I tried to dig it up, thinking it was a coral trapped under the sand, but found no base or central body. It thrives under metal halide light and in high flow.
Any ideas?
