Ive had a little search but couldnt find a direct answer.

Ammonia - Salifert
PH - Salifert
Nitrite - Salifert
nitrate - Salifert
kh - Salifert
calcium - Salifert
magnesium - Salifer
phosphate - d&d

Is there anything else i need to test for in a fowlr marine tank?

Also are the kits listed next to them the best for the type? (these are what ive picked up on).

I will eventually go onto to corals so what other kits do for these?

thanks
chris

That all looks good to me, I use the salifert for everything including phosphate and they all work fine for me.

Well, that's the full blown hard coral reef assortment. You don't need Calcium, Alkalinity or Magnesium test kits for a soft coral reef, and Phosphate is not needed for FOWLR :good:

Thanks

so for fowlr i would need

Ammonia - Salifert
PH - Salifert
Nitrite - Salifert
nitrate - Salifert
kh - Salifert

and for soft corals i would need the above + Phosphate?

thanks

Basically, yes. The KH and Alkalinity kits are usually one and the same. KH is very hard to measure directly in a marine tank, and hence is expensive to test accurately, so you test the KH by doing an Alkalinity test... It's not a direct Alkalinity reading, but it gets an accurate enough result. Either way, KH or Alkalinity kits are not needed unless you are getting hard corals :good:

ok thanks

so its the main ones that are used in freshwater tanks then.

yeah pretty much, just buy salifert one as the fresh water ones are really inaccurate when used with salt water

yes i will do.
thanks just thought there where more tests to do in saltwater (even without any type of corals etc)
