Hi all,

Sorry for making another post, but om unsure on my testing.

I have an api saltwater kit which tests ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. But what else do i need to test, from a previous post I believe it is alkalinity and calcuim?

I have an api KH test, what its this for? Also found a calcuim test kit on ebay...

Salifert Testkits are generally concidered best

If you are testing for Calcium, Alk then you will need to test Mag as they are all related

you will only need to test for these if you are running a Reef

phosphates I have learned is also another very important thing to keep a tab of becuase they can cause trouble if you don't. dave

KH test is "carbonate hardness" otherwise known as an alkalinity test. If you're keeping a reef, you'll need tests for alkalinity (KH), calcium, magnesium, and phosphate
