Territorial fish

I have had some success adding territorial and agressive fish to community tanks. I always add them in after everyone else has claimed their own territory. This has worked well with barbs and some Oscars. Does not always work, but then again, we paint ourselves in a corner sometimes. Just wondering if anybody else has ever done or heard of this?

I have done the same with barbs but never oscars. An Oscar introduction sounds gutsy. Another method is to change the tank decor when you add the new fish, but I think that works better when you put non aggressives in with agressives that are pre established.
