Hi All wondering if someone can help me out abit.

i have had a terrapin for around 5 - 6 years now it was given to me as the previous owner was moving and no longer had room for him.

i have no idea what terrapin it is etc all i know is its a terrapin, attached are some photos of the little blighter if someone can help me identify him, i really need to know as well howto setup a tank for him as i have kept him up til now like the previous owner did 2 inches of cold water changing it every couple of days.

i really want to sort him out and get a nice decent tank setup for him but have no ideas where to start on this project.

any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, and if possible some photos of your tanks would be nice so i can see what i am up against in terms of setting a tank up

also i have no idea how old he is, as far as i am aware hes got to be more than 10 years old ive had him 5 - 6 years and the previous owner had him for a long time, never really remembered how long though.

He looks like a Red Ear Slider to me, they can live for 40 years if properly cared for, so if yours is 10years old he/she is still young :) . He is a link with lots of info as to proper care maintanence etc of such turtles;

thanks for the information!

You defiantly have a Red Eared Slider :good: At that age it should be an adult, that's about 8-12 inches. If you are going to get a tank for it now, you should get a 100-120 gallon tank ;) Good Luck! :good:
