i do alot of fishing and ive got a pond in me garden with koi init
i was just wondering if i could put any of these fish into my pond
or will they have all sorts of diseases. please could u help me.
thanks. mj

Well there is a risk of introducing disease into your pond, but the main point is that your pond is probably too small to house these fish. As a fisherman you probably know that the uk record carp stands at 64lb ( around that ) and i dont think your pond is big enough to house this fish lol. As for the perch it is a predator and will need a sustainable food source so unless you are willing to use up a lot of small goldfish then no. you could possinbly add a tench but then we come back to the introducing disease problem. hope this helps LOL

Breem and Tench might be ok. If you put a tench in, it will scavenge anything off the bottom of the pond and you're likely never to see it again though.

Find a reputable source for them if you want to avoid disease.

i wouldnt add wild caught fish into an already stocked pond, they will be imune to whatever they are carrying your pond fish wont

you can buy common and mirror carp from any decent garden center bred in a controled situation ,

tench id not add anyway as they secrete a slime which may harm the koi and as stated the perch will eat anything it thinks will fit in its mouth, although i have known people to keep them

roach will do fine in a pond but again not from the wild unless you can quarantine the fish beforehand
