i have a little 4 gal tank for my fry wen they arrive and for the mother to have them in i will only have enough money for a heater in a week mabye 2 so i need a temerary solution is there anyway to heat up my tank it is currently 22c and i need to get it up to 26c-27c. thnxs for any reply!

It's not that scientific or stable, however if you do need to get the temp up try securing hot water bottles to the outside of the tank...... And keep the tank well insulated, wrap a blanket around etc.... This is a real bodge it and scarper method but it willkeppthem temp up for a while but you are going to spend a lot of time checking temp and re-filling hot water bottles......

you could try to put it by the heater, but if those are guppies, then you really dont have to worry they will be fine.

The summer temps will keep the tank warm enough for now,all four of my tanks are running with no heaters at the moment and still have temperatures above 25 oC

Hot water bottle or maybe if you have a heating pad. That should help. :D

what kind of light do you have on that tank you could tryusing a regular light bulb you should get a little extra heat from that.

This is correct - if you use a incandesant bulb. Flourescent bulbs don't give out much heat, though they are more energy efficient. So if you have a light with an incandesant lightbulb - that should help with heating, if you have it on for awhile.

That's exactly it.

A company called "Bodge It & Scarper" was actually set up in the UK by a couple of good builders with a sense of humour as a pop at shoddy workmanship by other builders in their area. Worked well, they got loads of free publicity just for having the front to do it....
