outside im pretty sure. your best getting a thermometer and putting it in the tank, that will give a more accurate reading

ok well i have these at home now so might as well use one and get a thermoter, what should the temp on the above read for tropical tanks which is in cycle stage so no fish as yet?

Your tank on averge should be between 75-80 F
