my heaters dial was at the top of the dial when cycling, now since its done or close too, i need to turn it down. howeever, i turned it down some, and it went from 81 to 78, then i turn it down more, and it stayed the same, then i turned it down more, and its the same, and i turned it down almost to the bottom, and its the same........

how do i lower the temp?......

It will take the water a long time to cool down IME. Perhaps do a small water change with cool water to help it along

Pretty cool? That's over 25 C. That's a good summer temp here in Blighty.
I keep my house at no more than 70, usually more like 65.

Your tank water probably won't drop below the temperature of the room, unless you do something to cool it.

Your tank will cool to 'room temp' and stay there. And in your instance 'room temp' is 78-80 soooo.............

yeah its horrible here in arizona. today was 90 F!!!!!
last year i had trouble keepin the temp down during the summer, when it was around 115F, i couldnt keep it lower than 82. so what i had to do was add afan pointing towards the tank.

however, for this year i want somethign a little more permanent since its alywas hot here. what could i do to bring the temp down? ( i have the heater disconnected during the summer too)
