Wow that is really interesting. It makes me want to try it myself. It looks like a lot of work, but how many people can say that their betta does tricks on command? Thanks for the link :D

That is really neat. I have been trying to teach a couple of my boys a few simple tricks. It is reassuring to know that I am not the only one, and that it can be done. Great find!

Man, that's neat, I wanna teach my little boy "Kite" to do some tricks.

If you read some of the other things on his site you will understand why he strikes me as a bit of a neat freak... I think he said something about not liking filters or heaters in fry tanks because "they create places for disease to hide" -_-

Maybe I'm missing the point, but a lot of the bacteria that cause disease come in with the water itself.

the chlorine kills the bacteria in the water, then when you add conditioner, all you get is water with conditioner, theres no bacteria for like one second.

only "trick" mine do is eat from my finger heh, not much of a trick, but it works for me :) and i actualy made one of my guys jump out to get to his food today, so that was cool.

I noticed one day that one of my Plakats had a tendency to jump out of the water when he got excited. So I encouraged it with operant conditioning and food rewards. Now he jumps about 3 inches out of the water every time my fingers hover over the tank.

Needless to say...he has a VERY secure lid on his tank.

I did something of the same. Every time my betta Ula would jump, I'd give him live blood worms. Now he jumps every time and touches my fingers. He's so cute!

Hehe, my Sky does that, he will ATTACK your finers if he thinks you have food, he like, has a conniption and spazzs. He rarely leaves the water, but sometimes his head will pop out.

but it can't hurt if a betta attcats your figer....It might6 give you a bit of a shock, but still.........
I think the wholem trick thing is weird....I like looking at my fish pretending their normal......but no one that lives with me is normal
